MY ITALIAN FAMILY WOULD ALWAYS USE THE LEFTOVER EGG WASH & BREAD CRUMBS, MIX TOGETHER & FRY THEM IN THE OIL THAT WAS USED TO COOK THE ORIGINAL BREADED EGGPLANT – WE REFERRED TO IT AS – ” AFROSH ” – I DON’T KNOW WHY – IS THERE A ‘PROPER’ NAME FOR THIS – ???

I have never heard that name. This has many different names. Placek is just one of them. :) I just can’t remember the other names now.
My mom would make a placek every time she breaded something, like schnitzel, cauliflower, …She made a huge placek afterwards and we helped ourselves. Sixty some years later and I’m having a placek my husband made from the bread crumbs, egg mixture, and flour left over from my breaded cauliflower. He loves the idea of no food waste, and it’s soooo good.
Oh yes I also don’t like to waste food, plus my husband always asks for placek. :D
